This course is an introductory course which will be of benefit to you if you are involved in insolvency and debt collection.
Overview
The topic is analysed from a practical and commercial perspective with detailed reference to relevant statutory provisions and relevant case law.
By the end of this course you will be able to:

- Recognise the circumstances in which a statutory demand may be required and what to do if your client is presented with a statutory demand
- Advise on the practical implications of a petition and the effect of presenting a petition
- Understand the effect of advertisement of a petition and how to restrain advertisement.
- Manage the process of the petition
- Evaluate when a validation order is required
- Identify the consequences of withdrawing a petition and costs implications
- Appreciate the affects of an order on the company
