Frequency Asked Questions
Candidates often ask us questions about the Tests or their
administration. Below is a sample of some of the more common
questions.
The Tests
Can I complete the Tests over two or more sittings?
Yes. You can take the Tests as and when you want to (subject to
payment of appropriate registration and Test fees).
How many times can I take a Test?
As many times as you need to. The Solicitors Regulation Authority does not limit
the number of times you can sit a Test.
If I take more than one Test at one sitting, and fail one, will I have to
re-take all of the Tests?
No.You only need to re-sit the Test that you have failed. A further
registration fee may be payable and a further Test fee will be
payable for the re-take, unless you have booked the Assured Pass
Pack.
What can I take into the Tests?
The Tests are entirely 'open book'.
When and how will I receive my Test results?
We will send your results to you by email and post approximately 6 weeks from
the date of your Test. Results cannot be provided over the
telephone.
What is the pass mark?
To pass a written Head of the Test, a candidate must score at least 50%. For Professional Conduct and Accounts (Head III), candidates must pass both parts of the paper.
What are the pass rates?
Pass rates are consistently high and there is a direct correlation between attendance on a course and the candidate's ultimate performance.
Can I get feedback after a Test?
Candidates who fail a Test may request written feedback from an examiner at a cost of £70 + VAT. For further details, please email qltt@bpp.com

Do I have to purchase a BPP course of study prior to enrolling for a
Test?

prepare in whatever way they consider appropriate for each Test.
If I decide to purchase a BPP course, is there a cut off date for the
