This course will be of benefit to all those wishing to gain the skills to advise and assist clients on pension matters.
Overview
Most people are aware of the basic structure of pensions yet few have detailed knowledge of the way in which they work. This course takes professionals through the first principles of pensions; from how pensions schemes work, to drafting a pensions schedule and making pensions pay. It will guide delegates through current practices and procedures and relevant legislation will also be examined.

- Types of pension: funded, unfunded and notionally funded
- The new tax rules and consumer protection
- The effect of the moral hazard laws on transactions
- How to use and abuse an actuary
- How to deal with surpluses and deficits
- Pensions compliance in the new regime
- Pensions and employment, TUPE, employment tribunals
- FURBS, URBS, SIPPs, SASSs, GPPPs and hidden bills in the service agreement
- Simplification and the Finance Act 2004 and the Pensions Act 2004
