This course will be of benefit to bankers, lawyers, accountants, company directors and others who are dealing with corporate defaults in either a primary responsibility position or an advisory capacity. Some knowledge of banking law and corporate financial statements would be beneficial.

Course content

This two day course will provide a comprehensive insight into the core issues involved in loan defaults, work-outs and restructurings. In any situation there will be a number of legal options available, depending on the loan documentation and the jurisdiction of the borrower, and the delegates will be required to consider remedial plans. These plans will include consideration of restructuring alternatives, inter-creditor and inter-jurisdictional issues, valuing distressed assets and enforcing security. Learning will be assisted by a combination of analytical exercises based on real life case studies.
