Firearms Operations

Law Enforcement

BPP deliver national courses dealing with managing the legal & professional risks of Firearms Operations. The courses have been attended by some 80% of police forces including representatives from both HMIC and NCPE.

John Beggs (No.1 police barrister in the UK, Legal 500, Chambers & Partners) is the lead presenter on the courses. They will deal with the key elements such as ;

  • The risks - professional and legal
  • Article 2 (right to life) and the implications
  • Planning and managing intelligence
  • Post incident management

BPP have created an optional e-learning training programme allowing delegates to access full multi media presentations covering the core risk areas including court reconstructions delivered by leading legal and policing practitioners. Updates ensure that the product reflects best practice, lessons learned and predictions of future trends.

Emphasis will always be on practical advice for law enforcement agencies such as, what are the implications of the latest Court decision? What should firearms units do to respond to judicial findings? How does the latest finding at an inquest affect the command and control of firearms operations?

If you would like any further information on either the BPP in-house course or the e-learning module, please contact our Client Care Team on 0845 226 2422  or email rodgoddard@bpp.com.
