JIE - Registration & Enrolment

The 2008 JIEB examinations will take place on the 4th, 5th and 6th November.
It is your responsibility to register with your respective Professional Body for the JIE and to pay your exam fee. This is not included in the BPP course fees.
JIEB Examinations
You are eligible to sit the JIEB examinations if you have:

Satisfied the requirements of your Recognised Professional Body (ACCA, ICAEW, Law Society, etc...)

At least 7,000 hours insolvency experience and have satisfied the requirements of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry

Satisfied the requirements of the Insolvency Practitioners Association
If you have any doubts about your eligibilty, it is recommended that you contact your RPB directly, as only they can authorise you to sit the exams. Registration, Enrolment, and Exam Dates
In 2008 the JIEB will be held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th November. The closing date for exam entries will be around the end of September. Please check this date with your recognised professional body.
Candidates should submit their application form for the examinations through their professional body, the IPA or the DTI as appropriate, who will supply syllabus details and exam information.
The Exam is held at around 20 centres throughout the UK. The IPA usually requires candidates to have passed its Entry Level Examinations, or equivalent.

Candidates may attempt all three papers, or two of the three papers at one sitting. All three papers should be completed within 5 years of the first sitting, with no more than five attempts at any one paper.The five year period may be extended at the discretion of the JIE Board.
Examination results are available and sent to candidates in early March. You will be given an overall result of pass, referred or fail, and in relation to individual papers, whether he/she has passed or is a marginal fail, fail or bad fail. The pass mark for each paper is determined by the JIEB Board, but is no higher than 50%
