Make the most of what you have learned in your CPI studies in 2009 and fast track to the JIEB Personal Insolvency examination in November 2010.

Why attempt the JIEB Personal Insolvency Paper in 2010?

Recent changes to rules have meant that candidates only need to attempt one paper at their first sitting, instead of two papers under previous rules.

This will effectively help candidates to begin working towards the JIEB qualification more quickly, and help to spread this difficult set of exams over 2 years.

This will be of particular benefit if you either:

  • Plan to take all three papers of the JIEB in 2011
  • Plan to attempt the JIEB Personal Insolvency paper, with the intention of applying for a Voluntary Arrangements only licence when this comes into law.

BPP recommend CPI students wishing to begin their work on the JIEB to start with the Personal Insolvency paper in 2010. If successful, this will allow you to concentrate on the two papers focusing on Corporate Insolvency in 2011, which can be seen as the most effective way to approach the papers over this time frame.

The JIEB is a qualification which is widely recognised and valued in the Insolvency profession. Passing the JIEB will allow you to continue on your path to becoming a licenced insolvency practitioner.

What will I get from the course?

The JIEB are renowned for being a very difficult and practical set of examinations. Although the subject matter of the CPI and JIEB are similar, the JIEB goes into far greater detail, and adopts a very practical approach.

The examinations are very different, and without understanding and appreciating this, it is very unlikely that candidates will successfully make the transition between the papers.

This course will focus on the areas of the JIEB syllabus which are not covered by the CPI, and will also take you through the format of the JIEB Personal Insolvency exam, and give you invaluable tips on how to approach the exam, and planning your preparations to attempt it.

Once attended, the CPI to JIEB conversion course will leave you well prepared, and in a position to continue your studies towards the exam in November.
